My father Douglas Hardwicke was born in Blaxhall, as was my Grandmother, Kathleen Knights and her father John Knights. I think I am related to many of the Knights that are still living there. I believe Jimmy (James) of 'Songs from the Ship' fame was related to me. My Grandad, Eric Hardwicke who married Kathleen was a member of the Blaxhall Rovers in the 1920s and sang with George Ling and others. Check out mustrad.org.uk/ssp/singsay1.htm#ship for a great article about the singers. If anyone knows any of my relatives please contact me. Thank you.

We are moving to Blaxhall 17 July and are very much looking forward to it :-). Great website thanks, with lots of interesting photos. Anyone any idea on how old Lime Tree Cottage is? I know it used to be two farm cottages before being converted into one detached house... Sue

Compliments to the web site designers and contributors. Blaxhall has always held a major place in our family, and youth. There are many stories, but you already know that.....see you over the w/e of the 25th.Best wishes,David (and John) Savage. 2 of many grandsons of Nan Priscilla. Not that we would ever call her that of course.

Visited Blaxhall today and saw the wonderful church - so beautiful and so welcoming. We were looking for family of my wife's gt grandmother Ellen Smith Dale who was born there in 1862.Your site does good justice to a beautiful village - well done

I wish all villages were as well researched and documented. Your book is a credit to all involved in it's production as is the DVD.My Ancestors the Newsons(on my Grand Mother's side)came from Blaxhall, Sadly I knew nothing of them but thanks to your site and your book I now have an insight into my roots.
